Glass Blower

After growing up in Colorado, I was first introduced to the glass medium while studying at Pomona College, in Claremont, California, where I received a BA in Philosophy. While at Pomona, I indulged my interest in art, taking many art classes including a glass blowing class taught by the renowned glass artist, Therman Statom. That introduction started me on a path that led me to the glass artist, Richard Silver, whose studio was in Venice, California. There, I began an apprenticeship with Silver in 1986 and worked for him for 10 years, full time, assisting and blowing glass on LA’s west side in Venice, Santa Monica, and Inglewood.

In 1996 after living in Venice for 10 years, I founded Moonlight Glass in a shop space next to Beach Boys Racing on Hampton Drive. Since I turned my glass furnace on in 1999, I have focused on improving my craft and exploring new ideas in glass, selling creations in galleries in California and Colorado. I have also done multiple commissioned works over the 25 years that I have been blowing glass.

I prefer to use the oil candles because they emit light in all directions (unlike a wax candle). Wax gets messy unless you have some protection under the candle or can get battery powered or LED rechargeable candles can be used as well.
